Pictures: (in imgtc's ordering.)

  1. The major mistake I made. I drilled the holes for the threads and redrilled them in a larger size but I was cock eyed the second time around. This was to be the front cover.

  2. The (original) front cover.

  3. Open to a page in the middle. It's a notebook for practice before I try to print and bind The Book of Tea.

  4. The (original) back cover. See the knot in the thread.

The stitch pattern is called Asa-no-ha Toji, which means hemp leaf stitch.

Since it's a notebook, though, I'm just going to turn it over and pretend the side with the error is the back of the book. Problem solved! The knot is front and center for aesthetic reasons! Mmmmhmmm yep! :-)

Edit: one more small mistake: I forgot to put the decorative paper on the inside of each cover. Right now the bare cardboard is showing which is why I didn't take pics of it. Because it's now bound, when I put the decorative paper on it will stop just before the hinge and will leave exposed the brown paper there.
