Last Monday was the day. I downloaded software that blocked all calls that weren't in my contacts.

I change my number every six months.

My phone rang twice! My wife and daughter
No more 800 numbers, no more robo-calls.

FREEDOM! Dont let anyone associate you with a phone number!

I've had the same number for years and I'm an idiot for not changing it, but I've had debt collections call for the same guy this entire time.

For almost 5 years, dozens of different debt collectors have called looking for this guy, and it bugs the shit out of me. Even stranger still, one time I went to an auto body shop and registered the number there...and they pulled up the account for this guy and thought I was him.

There's some dude who lives/lived near me that owes people a lot of money. What are the odds that I would get the used number of somebody so close to home?

Ask them for a debt validation letter. When they send it, forward it to a lawyer. Problem solved.

I got so many debt collector calls for the previous owner the first few months after I got my last number, then they suddenly stopped. Fast forward a few years and bam - new debt collector calls for the same guy. Very annoying

uhhh that has been built in on my phones for the last... three or four years?

I would like to do that, but that would make communication with my doctor's offices and random healthcare providers for my family difficult. I just stick with letting any random number go to voice mail and if they don't leave one they usually get blocked...which isn't super helpful given how easy it is to get a burner number

I a marketing call on my mobile after I changed energy companies. I changed energy companies again the next day and rang them and told them why. They don't give a fuck but it felt good.

I want this so bad. I totally regret listing my number on a few domains years ago. I have dozens of incoming numbers that I add to a contact that has a silent ringer.. but it never stops.

I signed up for the National Do Not Call Registry and the calls decreased dramatically. Now when I get a telemarketing call, I politely explain I'm on the DNCR and they are committing a crime if they continue to contact me. I went 4 months without a call until I just had one last week. But that company hasn't called me again.

I really don't want to switch this number because I still get texts that are meant for the previous chick that owned the number and I love messing with them. A few months ago I got a text from an unknown number asking for Sara's number. I don't know any Sara's, so I told her that "I don't talk to that bitch no more." The ensuing conversation went:

Her: your aunt Sara?

Me: yeah, she's a cunt. She starts shit all the time.

Her: Omg what happened?

Me: she told a bunch of people I'm a lesbian.

Her: I'm so sorry girl. That's messed up.

It really helps bring me entertainment to a boring day.
