That's not a bad idea. I wasn't completely against the level 4 cap, but level two is much more obtainable to new users.

Basically you increase levels by participating and it doesn't take much to gain that first level. Some accomplish it with a solid introduction post.
XP = Phuks taken + badges level = sqrt(XP/10)

Pure speculation of course but this was no small part of why I created that particular sub, to see the reaction from admins and try to figure out what kind of site this is and/or is going to be. I've had a belly full of the bullshit you find on the aforementioned sites. The timing on this is very suspect.
Is there a page that explains some of the workings of this site, eg.. how one reaches different levels, how voting works and the effect it has on accounts, a 'mission statement'... other?

I'm not an admin, but I've been here since shortly before it got its current name. I just want to put that out front. That said, my opinions are my own an don't necessarily reflect the admins. This is a preface to what I'm about to say.
I think I'm speaking for just about everybody when I say that nobody is here to rule over you or attack anybody. We want to see solid content, whatever that may be, and we want to contribute. Culture seems to rule over all and we don't want to have to defend a stronghold every time we make a post. An online forum isn't real life, it should be an escape from that. We have to fight every day to stay afloat in our lives, it's fucking exhausting.
I got real off topic here but... I just want to relax and enjoy the internet again. That's why I'm here.
unfortunate timing on your part. We've been getting hit with spam accounts/posts for over a week since someone on voat got a crush on someone here. We're just trying to finish building some stuff before we got too exposed. We are far from ready to make promises to users about features.

It's a private site with no promises of what it may be. The site was built as a learning tool and we have a few months of hosting left. If it get's too expensive to run or we get bored, we'll shut it down and burn the data. I've had stuff promised to me for years with no delivery from these kind of sites. I wanted to see if we could do it ourselves or maybe eventually do it differently.
We have no intention of selling user data or using google ads/tracking. In house ads or merch will come later to extend our hosting if people keep asking for it.

Well I got them to impliment it after a couple of spam posters created subs and v or vv whatever they go by made 15 subs day one on the site.
Simply put I didn't care enough about you to have it be about that.
