Yeah, same sort of thing CA is trying to do. It just kind of creates a second class of citizens who would not be able to buy a newer car because they do not have a practical place to charge them (home garage/work parking lot).

Not to mention that Washington has had some serious domestic terror attacks (others might call it "riots") and anyone who decides to compromise those batteries are going to cause some serious fire/explosion/toxic hazards.

This is going to be far worse than people realize especially once those lithium mines start running out or get too toxic.

Oh man, I didn't even think about the hazards that would be caused by setting an electric car on fire. They better pass a mandate that electric vehicles need to be riot-proof too

I imagine they've thoroughly tested the outcome of cars catching on fire as required by the DOT and other federal agencies and have met the requirements of safety.
