I think it would be interesting for a site to do this not only because it tells the users what is going on but because most likely almost all sites do too little accounting and it would be a motivation to code a system, both for keeping track of things, and communicating things.
It would be interesting to utilize the tech already on a site for that. Like on here you could have comments made by one person act as entries to a t-table which is the title of the post, and for automated book keeping a bot would make the post. And or it would not be an input but just an output where the T-table is a post that is edited on the backend so that it is legible here, but before it does it archive.is's what was there before and edits a comment that acts as an archive chain.
