This statement is worse than useless. They have a nonstop stream of lies and disinformation:
- directed at wrong audience
- delusions that they're dictating terms from a position of strength and can bite and hold their war territories before suffering counter attacks that strip them away
- vague and subjective definition of "serious proposal" allows them to immediately reject any proposal that might be unpleasant to both sides ( withdraw to pre-war boundaries) but actually could be done to restore some semblances of the status quo vs Russia gets to keep all its gains and plunder without any concessions
- Orwellian deployment of language and lies during this whole fiasco (e.g. claims they're going to attack Ukraine is Western lies and propaganda, false flag attacks and fake accusations that Russians are being genocided, bioweapons labs, Ukrainian Nazis, Special Military Operation, claims fighting 60k NATO special forces on the ground, partial mobilization, 99% referendums, trying to force redo votes at the UN after the results condemn them in a landside and only support from the likes of Syria, NK, Eritrea, Sudan (lol), daily nuclear blackmail, war crimes and targeting civilians, kidnapping 10s of thousands of children, POW torture and executions, sham trials)
- ignores their repeated violations of agreements and rejection of Ukrainian sovereignty
It's the perfect example of a bad-faith actor. I guess some people are dumb enough not to see through the obvious propaganda though and think this proves that Russia is the victim here or big evil NATO or something. The bullshit is absolutely astounding and indefensible by anyone who cares for honesty.
For all their fixation and claims of how evil the west is, imagine if Russia actually had the power that they imagined they have. They could get away with all of this and just not care about how ridiculous they sound. That's the best explanation for why they act this way.
A proposal for what? We aint at war, talk to the Ukrainians.
