Huh, I guess that would explain the name Alias went with for creating the 3D DCC "Maya"

Alias created a digital content creation (DCC) tool called Maya that is the standard tool across film, tv and games artists use to create 3D models and 3D animation. Autodesk eventually bought the company back in 2009 I think, giving them a monopoly on the 3D DCC market combined with their 3D Studio Max.

The idea that Maya "creates illusions" it's great because it's used to, well, create illusions
