Le Bateau caused a minor stir when the Museum of Modern Art, New York, which housed it, hung the work upside-down for 47 days in 1961...

Art is expression.

If your work is so abstract that it can be mistakenly hung upside down, then either it is so abstract that it doesn't need an up or down, or it fails to express enough for display in a museum.
