God wants us to have faith, so we have a choice. If he healed amputees.
That's called "rationalization." And if God exists, he doesn't need you to rationalize for him.
A religion that was true would encourage skepticism and literally beg you to take the outsider's test. It would beg you to try to reject it, to want to reject your faith and try to not want it to be true, and then see if you're dragged back kicking and screaming because the arguments are so good and the evidence so overwhelming.
It's called "religion," not "science." But since we're on the topic, Buddhism comes to mind. So do certain branches of Hinduism. Did you know you could be a complete atheist and still be Hindu? Belief in any kind of deity is not a requirement.
God wants us to have faith, so we have a choice. If he healed amputees.
"For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse."
Ah, so we are without excuse.
I will assume for sake of argument evolution is flawed too and all the apologetics of William Lane Craig and other apologists are rock-solid and leave atheists speechless.
Then I guess healing an amputee would be fine then since we are all without excuse and there are so many good arguments.
hehe
There's also the part where it says if they won't believe the prophets they won't believe if someone comes back from the dead. I can tell you if my grandfather rose from the dead or my cousin with down syndrome were healed I'd definitely be questioning my atheism. So far I'll have to go off of those baptism in the spirit where emotional people have some sort of self-induced spiritual orgasm or that story about the atheist professor who dropped the chalk and it fell down his shirt and pants and rolled out on the floor without breaking...
