Let me start by saying I use a strong password on all accounts and change them monthly, no two accounts have the same password.

Today I checked my bank account and saw a amazon pending charge of $107, I know I've not ordered anything in over a week. I open a chat with amazon and learned someone (Anna) used my account to order ?. I then call amazon and did some complaining plus told the dude cancel the order freeze or close my account. He reply's I cant, so I ask to be transferred to someone who can ( I'm googling how to close amazon account) Long story short the dude who sounds like he's from India was useless but I managed canceled the order and closed my account. I also emailed a few friends and attached the chat and phone conversation to them and they closed their accounts as well until amazon can fix there issues of no security. This is why I hate online stores to store my information.

Amazon likes to help people hack your account. I once was on the phone at the same time that a hacker was texting them to get into my account. Caused a bit of a kerfuffle when I changed my password to "StopHelpingPeopleHackMyAccount".

I got a credit card specifically for exclusive use on the internet, I can cancel it at any time without impacting my meat space dealing. If I use it on Amazon I let them hold my info until my order arrives, then I delete the card from Amazon.

Could you tell me what card that is, I want to get one and thanks for the idea.

Any card will do if you use it exclusively on-line. I would still have to jump through hoops for at least twenty minutes to cancel it.

Yes I know, the dude would not help and that's why I searched on Google on how to close my account while talking to the idiot. And I found capital on and discover prepaid cards.

Easiest thing on the planet is to create a "credit card" on privacy.com, link it to your amazon account and then just keep it paused until you buy something. You'll get a notice when someone tries to charge something so you'll know someone's hacking your account.
