So I was looking for a copy of the executive order itself but was unable to find one. One article I read said it was heavily based on the following bill:

https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/1914/text

I really wish I could get a copy because I would not trust any online media to report this correctly.

In theory its not a bad idea. But it seems like a fair amount of the rights talking points are more conspiracy than politics. Should fiscal budget planning be seated alongside Qanon nuttery?

Yes it is. Media, including social media is considered the fourth pillar of a free nation. If the executive restricts media, it's often considered an unfree state, like China or Russia, would be a shame to see the US go that way.

A free and independent media is the fourth pillar. This country has neither.

Honestly until I can get an actual copy of the order I have no idea what this legislation actually would mean. However it seems to draw from the publisher/forum debate which has a lot of interesting caveats.
