Both me and my wife are "essential workers" and our daycare is currently shut down. We basically take turns passing our kids off between each other as the other one goes to work. Luckily, both of our jobs have been working with our schedules and we usually get a few hours together most nights. But it still fucking sucks that we barely see each other and play hot potato with the kids. And because of this shit, I get more/less time with my daughter from a previous relationshit. My ex and I work well together on making things work well for both of our schedules, but because i am working super fucking stupid hours, even when i do have my daughter, I usually only see her for a moment before she's gone again. All of this fabricated hardship over a fucking virus being blown way out of proportion by a tyrannical governor.

Sorry for the rant, im kinda drunk and this shit just continues to pile up and piss me off more and more.

We're both guessing based on personal belief. I believe that the US had Covid-19 in January after the CES show in Vegas had 170,000 people from 160 countries shaking hands and pushing the same doors and getting in cabs, among other things. The early exposure indicates that more people have antibodies than we thought. NYC has about 20% of the people with antibodies already. Get to 50% and you have the sacred herd immunity. I think we'll see that faster, in a lot of areas, than expected.

I'm not guessing, motality rates are higher than "last years flu".

I don't believe that the reported fatality numbers are accurate. A friends brother was dying of lung cancer. He contacted Covid-19 in the hospital and died. They reported the cause of death as Covid-19. He would have died soon anyway. Covid-19 was a catalyst for death. Ling cancer killed him. I understand that the "infirm" are at risk. But, there needs to be some explanation as to whether a fatality would have died within a few weeks if uninfected. I anticipate that someday the numbers will be broken down better and include those that show no symptoms. My wife's niece was asymptomatic. Being a nurse, she was tested. She had Covid-19. How many people have, or had it, that are not included in the official numbers. The US is pathetically third-worldish in how it's handling the entire pandemic. I accept that you accept the reported numbers. I think it's too early to know for sure. So, I choose not to believe the reported stats, at this time.
