Today is April Fools. In New Zealand that means welfare, minimum wage, etc etc increase. New tax year.
What's interesting is looking at the benefit rates -- what people can get. https://www.workandincome.govt.nz/products/benefit-rates/benefit-rates-at-1-april-2019.html
We have a few interesting welfare programmes going on. 'Young parent payment' 'Sole parent support' 'Family tax credits' These were programs created specifically for the purpose of helping single mothers raise children.
When you add up what single mothers can get, you suddenly know why they're lazy cunts who smoke meth all day.
If you have one child on the sole parent benefit you are eligible for:
$388 (pre-tax)
PLUS anywhere between $80-$235 in rent support.
PLUS family tax credit which works out to $92/week if they're under 15 or $113/w.
Add it all up and apply taxes where applicable, you end up with single mothers receiving between $511 to $687 each week for having one child.
Add in another child and that's another $91. $602 to $778 a week.
Single mothers can get $778 each week for just shitting out kids. It's an awful shame I wasn't born with a pussy.
It gets pretty bleak when you include all the single mother households out there. http://archive.stats.govt.nz/Census/2013-census/profile-and-summary-reports/qstats-families-households/one-parent-children.aspx turns out there are just a bit over 200,000 "single parent households" in a country of 4.9 million. 5% of the total population are useless cum dumpsters. If you further decrease the number into total tax payers, it probably is about 2 million. 10% of the population which should be able to pay taxes are instead mooching off the system.
Of course not all single parents are cancerous. It's just the vast majority are.
Even if you assume that half the single parent households work or have legitimate cases, that's still 100,000 dependents. If they mooch about $700/week on average. That works out to $3,640,000,000 stolen from the coffers each year.
We have a tax bracket from $0-14k which is 10.5%. The most you can pay is $1,470. Stopping payments to useless single mothers could give people a tax break of $26/week across the board. You could do a tax-free bracket of $20k and we'd be fine as long as you stopped payments to single parent households. That would give people a PAYE cut of $50/week.
The system is rigged against the productive in favour to help the lazy. Change my mind.
When you subsidize something, you get more of it. Why don't people understand this. Do we want more single mothers?
