I ran into a skunk fishing at night that was a bit aggressive (he came to me I didn't walk in on his home) and almost had to shoot it with my 10mm. While that would work I was wondering if I had had some quality gel pepper spray if that could have made him stop.

Yes they are little but I don't want the germs from a bite, or rabies even though I could get treated for it.

Wow that's a very helpful link. So the fear is if the animal is rabid it may not respond as well just as humans with mental issues or on drugs do not.

Also lol so stupid to make 'dog' spray LESS effective than human spray lol, no thank you I'll carry human spray.

So since my main concern is rabid animals I've decided I'm just going to use my 10mm lol. Besides probalby best to kill an animal frothing at the mouth and acting weird so it doesn't keep spreading ... though since I'm a civilian I'd probably only kill it in self defense. but yeah, if their membranes are already swollen and their nervous system has issues i don't want to choose pepper spray (I'd only have time to try one probably)
