This doesn't seem normal for obvious reasons. My shower had them and now my kitchen sink. I get big ass crickets that just show up next to my drains. What should I bitch about to the construction company?
this would be installing a drain trap, IF you do not have one installed. Nothing to do with the water supply.
BUT you with 110 units in the building, there is likely some other entrance for the little critters besides the drains. the plumbers stirred something up

I think it is part of international building code that drainage traps are required for sinks. That would be a pretty big violation if the plumbers left them out.

Nope, our place has shared hot water for all 110 units. The plumbers had a hell of a time replacing the piping. I'm not touching it
