I was thinking more the ones in the 15th-17th centuries who were having illegitimate children and bankrupting the church. Back when church positions were still for sale for wealthy patrons.
Yeah, who knows... perhaps despite the significant wealth of the Catholic Church, he lives a spartan modest life - perhaps not?
If some decadent billionaires wish to propagate this message and encourage the little people to reduce the wealth of the powerful, I'm happy to hear it regardless of some implied hypocrisy.
Was he sitting on his diamond encrusted gold throne when he said this? I am not saying that he is wrong, just that he's a fucking hypocrite.
