Today I spent a couple hours playing '90s console games. I missed out on the Sega Saturn while it was in production.

But I've played almost enough vidya for this life and now I'm getting into traditional games like chess, poker, and bridge.

I like to get away from sitting in front of a screen, but do end up playing online a lot for the huge player bases.

Things I play relatively often are Crusader Kings 2, Europa Universalis 4, and 7 Days to Die. Other stuff I play occasionally are Death Road to Canada, Deus Ex, Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence, Skyrim, and Tyranny. That's all PC stuff. I haven't touched my console in a long time, which is a shame because a lot of my favorite games I own are on there too.

I'd happily sit down and play a game of Chess with with anyone. My friends are I are also greatly into other kinds of board games that are a bit more "gamer"-like, if that makes sense. So I have Forbidden Island, Latice, and Munchkin that are great fun, with the right people. Last week, I met up with two friends at one of their houses and we jammed to Arkham Horror, and it's 10 million different cardboard tokens :p. I also own Settlers of Catan, Illuminati, and I think something else, but I forget what it is now.

My friends and I are all TTRPG fans, so that might be our favorite thing to do, but I find myself wanting to get involved more with board and card games like the above more and more, especially since getting a common meeting time is becoming harder and harder (4 of my old group's players are now married, myself included; and we all have jobs).
