Today I spent a couple hours playing '90s console games. I missed out on the Sega Saturn while it was in production.

But I've played almost enough vidya for this life and now I'm getting into traditional games like chess, poker, and bridge.

I like to get away from sitting in front of a screen, but do end up playing online a lot for the huge player bases.

A while ago I started to get the same feeling, like I should stop spending so much time playing games. Instead of doing that, I changed the way I think about games. Now, I view them as an interactive piece of art that someone has made, rather than just playing a game. I think it's a better approach to gaming in general because once you get into that mindset, you start appreciating the little things a bit more, and noticing more stuff in games.

I have always played FIFA regularly since I was about 5. That's probably the game I have the most hours in. I am starting to play less and less new console releases and I'm getting more into PC releases instead. They're far more interesting and there is a ridiculous amount of variety on PC. I tend to play 3-4 games at a time, and constantly try new releases on PC.

At the moment I'm switching between XCOM, Overfall and Neon Chrome, but I still have a ton of new releases that I haven't played yet. I got Ultimate General Civil War today.

I haven't tried any of the X-COM reboot series, but I spent a lot of time on the first three X-COM games.

I was always more of a PC gamer, going back to C64. I haven't owned a 6th-gen or later console. All the best RPGs and strategy games were on PC.

XCOM is fun. I have racked up quite a few hours in Xenonauts too.
