A “lockdown” drill at Stafford County Middle School, .... required students to seek shelter in the nearest bathroom or locker room.

Pretty stupid, but it was just a drill. If all the students are packed into bathrooms and locker rooms I wonder if it would be safer finding a hiding place elsewhere.

Why would you divide up the students during the drill? Seems like that would take more time and effort, while making it easy not to account for students.
