The junky bum is the worst. They will position themselves uncomfortably close to you w/ track marks visible reeking of shit as they ask for change. The tactic is you'll be so repulsed you'd give them anything to get them away from you. Some people are just down on there luck, but there are others looking to terrorize you w/ their health and hygiene. Do not give into these fucks. It only makes them bolder the next time. Stay safe and stay armed. Not all muggings involve a knife.

Personally, it may sound cruel, but I have no compassion for any of these panhandlers. They don't get a dime outta me. I don't mind giving to legitimate charities that aim to help people in need make a better life, but those who ignore all the assistance that's out there both public and private to live in the streets, aren't worth throwing good money after bad. They're either scam artists playing on people's hearts or druggies looking for a fix.

You might have more reason than most. Work over the years has brought me to the sketchyist areas of the north east.

But I have never encountered anything like the bad end of Salt Lake City a few years back. The most aggressive shit-heels I can ever remember even subtly making them aware I was packing cc they still pressed pretty hard.

All I remember thinking is "Now on tonight's episode of The Walking Dead"

I never give them any money personally but I will say there's a difference between asking and holding a person hostage w/ your body odor and hygiene. The latter is just awful.

I lived in a particularly shitty part of a city in my early twenties. Oddly enough before that and even though I'd hunted all my life I never considered concealed carry. Even still, now that I'm in a better neighborhood I should be better about carrying. Some people really are just crazy. I've gotten much better about it as of late though, I just picked up the S&W M&P Bodyguard .380. Convenience really does matter. I hear about these guys that like to tell you they cc a 1911 everywhere they go. Maybe that's comfortable if you live in Northern Canada. I am a fan of this little pocket rocket I must say. Makes my HK45C feel full sized.
