Yeah, but in the real world many students just March off to uni because that's what everyone else is doing, and spend their time partying and accumulating debt because they can. I think the system deserves some criticism.

That 100% depends on what college you go to. Go to a public one and that's what you get. Go to a private one, you get serious people that actually want to be there. I've been in 3 different colleges both public and private and worked in another private one and again in a public one. The differences are night and day.

That’s because everyone sells college as a way to a job. That’s not the purpose of college. It’s there to provide a structured environment for education. It’s up to the students to make something of that.
