Anytime a politician does not directly answer a question, they're either lying or dodging to avoid an unpopular answer. In other words, she does not.

In that case, she had a much more decisive, easy answer that still would have been popular: "I don't think anyone should have to register for the draft. The draft is a legacy from when wars were primarily fought in fields with infantry. We have more than enough volunteer soldiers to handle all the functions of our armed services and there is no situation in which anyone should be forcibly conscripted into the military from this point forward."

Boom. Ten point answer.

She does not believe in limiting the power of the state, so although that is the correct and easy answer, don't expect such a sane policy suggestion from her.

Indeed. Just say something like, "The draft is an outdated policy and not one has ever been conducted since the Vietnam War. And especially because we have enough volunteer soldiers to handle all the functions of our armed services, there is no situation or war foreseeable in the near future where I think we would ever need a conscription policy. So, I think no one should have to register for the draft."
