I remember being super jealous of the guys who had a dedicated phone line for their PC and could run a BBS.
386 and a 2400 baud, taking hours to download some shareware. I don't miss it, but it is still nostalgic.

Apparently it's fake from what I've read. Is it weird I halfway believed it and assumed it had something to do w/ government nonsense and bureaucracy?
