Wrong! The alphabet is by far the easiest part. Really, might take 2 weeks before you can read the alphabet. The grammar is absolutely insane. You better really love conjugation, adjective declinations, and memorizing gender and the forms these take in many different cases because that is where you will be spending your time.

Are you saying that from someone that knows Russian, or someone that has learned Russian?

To avoid doxing myself I'll decline answering. Do some reading elsewhere about it too to see what others say about it. To put it in to perspective, I'd estimate the grammar is literally 5x harder than German, French, Spanish, etc. That might give you some perspective if you have studied those languages before. Not trying to discourage you from doing it if you really want to, but just realize it will probably be way, way more difficult than you imagine--even after thinking it is going to be very difficult.

That puts it into perspective. I did 5 years of Spanish, so knowing the grammar is that much more complex is helpful. I'll still give it a shot.
