Probably, but I still hold that most of this is easily avoided w/ manners. I think people lost the ability to criticize in a civil way when they dropped them for the most part. You hear very few kids using Yes Mam/Sir these days. It seems minor but good behavior in general is taught I believe and these constructs aren't arbitrary.

to some degree, giving respect is breathing life into the relationship.
unfortunately, for some folks, with vitriol and poison, they breath death and suffering into the relationship
