You ever seen the wild fires these guys have to fight? From what I understand is that they must take part in relief when it is needed. So yeah this dude is risking his life, and if he makes 6 figures.....so be it.
Better than it going to a cop doing nothing more than issuing tickets. Which is usually what it is patrolmen do.
