What the phuk kind of cheap donut do you buy? Decent donuts here are almost 2 bucks. I had a 9 dollar donut in Copenhagen that almost ruined donuts for me, because nothing else has ever come close.

I don't know what constitutes "decent" exactly, but... Dunkin' Donuts FTW!!!!!

When I'm looking for a donut, I just want something cheap and simple that costs about a dollar. When I want coffee, it's just coffee in a cup with a little cream and sugar and I expect to pay about two dollars for it. 9 dollars for a donut?! I could understand that as a one-time "let's give it a try" kind of thing, but that cannot be a typical donut.

Now, unfortunately Dunkin' Donuts has started to go the Starbucks route. There was a woman in front of me a few days ago ordering multiple drinks (like 5 or 6) for coworkers or something. I swear it was a most torturous wait as she kept trying (In vain) to correctly order the drinks. Each one was some combination of some form of coffee with added flavor shots, different sweeteners, lattes, macchiatos, chai tea. She kept ordering it wrong, the poor confused cashier kept misunderstanding. It was silly.

Meanwhile, one of the other people behind the counter sees me waiting, waves me down to the other end of the counter, hands me my medium, cream and sugar (without having to ask). I handed her my 2 bucks and a quarter sat down at a table opened up my laptop and drank my plain old regular delicious coffee, while browsing Phuks!.

Here we can get plain donuts for about 89¢. A plain, self serve coffee will run $1.39.

Myself I love a good diner where you can have a piping hot cup of coffee and a slice of pie. You can people watch and maybe enjoy a little music or a chat with the old waitresses. Alway found it hard to sit down in a dunkydodos.

The Dunkin' nearest to me remodeled last year they still have a few of the standard tables and chairs, but they added some big comfy chairs and coffee tables and a couple of large TVs too.

I think I like going to Dunkin for the smell. I like how that place smells. That's the main reason I ever go to coffee shops, I think--not that I go very often, but I think that's my favorite part.
