Yankee dime.
It is a kiss. I believe most often used by grannies to bribe children, without actually paying them anything, and/or as an excuse to love on them.
eg.. Bring me that [whatever], and I'll give you a yankee dime.
I have no idea, but I imagine it originated as a jab at yankees, something about them being crooks. LMAO.
I was always partial to "slicker than snot on a doorknob" for when something works perfectly. Might make for a good future "redneck phrase" if you make this a thing. "Your dime shoot" is an interesting way to answer a phone. More towards bible belt is answering a phone by saying "yellow". Not entirely northern or southern but an interesting colloquialism just the same.
