I'm gonna keep using both voat and phuks as I like them both for different reasons. Ermagherd the canary... well I don't live in Germanistan and I don't post stuff like death threats online. Gonna keep exercising my 1st when and where I please :)

And nothing wrong with that. I never understood the craziness over canaries either. Nothing there I'm ashamed of, I'm just over the childish drama, not that I ever got into the politics of it all anyway. I always figured I don't own it, I'm just a guest on someone else's dime.

There's stuff about voat that annoys me as well. I've found I enjoy the site more in smaller doses. The worst are the WW2 memers that never studied the war. One minute they're telling you about how based Poland is and the next they're talking about how great Nazi Germany was. (Poland is pretty awesome but Nazi's had a word for slavs... untermensch.) The truly cool thing about Poland is they don't want Nazi's or commies and don't glorify either. I appreciate Poland's national unity. They got the worse of both and want neither.

I agree. Poland has always been kicked around from all sides in Europe and it's a pretty awesome place. I think you nailed it though, the Hitler/Nazis good ... this never happened ... that never happened ...that stuff was a major factor in me giving up the ghost there. You can't fix stupid ... and those who ignore history are doomed to repeat it. To me, Voat has become to the right wing sjws, what Reddit is to the left. Me, I'm a Reagan type Republican and not into all that alt-right revisionism.

I can see the whole right wing sjw aspect. The funniest bit to me is that I consider Nazi's to have more in common w/ the authoritarian left. The narratives have changed but the formula is the same.

  1. Racially obssessed
  2. Unhealthy focus on a single group as a source for society's problems
  3. Wealth redistribution
  4. Gun confiscation

(I could go on)

Kinda sounds an awful lot like the "evil white male" narrative the left spouts these days. The "people of color" meme is some of the most racist shit spouted openly in recent memory. The entire purpose of the phrase is "everyone but white people". Why is the true spirit of "Don't Tread on Me" lost on so many people. All I really want is a government that leaves me the hell alone.
