How does this place work?

Is it as free as voat regarding Free Speech?

No.
They encourage an actual open speech area.
Meaning tantrums, brigades, agendas, and the like are not tolerated.

Voats 'free'-speech is very limited.

It's still a good thing to have options. I just don't want us to be divided by too much alternatives.
