Last Sunday I made some chili dogs and may have gone a little over board while seasoning the chili. It was just a bit of smokes chili powder and a few angry looking mystery powders (I lost the labels).

It had quite a nice bit of kick to it, and I didn't quite stir some of it in as well as I could have.

Well.... The by the next morning she was complaining that her lips felt chapped. By that night night there was some swelling. And.... they've been getting a bit worse over the week.

Today she finally went to see a doctor and they confirmed it was indeed chemical burns most likely from capsicum.

She had four separate nurses tell her not to allow me to season any food ever again for everyones safety.

All I know for sure is that was some damn tasty chili. (Although fairly unpleasant the next day)

I would gladly eat your chili.
I have been training my whole life for it.

My Indian(Dot) friends sweat when they eat my stir-fry.

You sound like my kind of cook.

My chili mac has cleared the table at work on occasion. Being a rather heavy smoker I might not have the best judgement on what's an appropriate spicy level.

I made that a bit more accurate for you.

LOL - great way to get outta cooking for the rest of your life, what a deal! Hope she's doing better now though.

Unfortunately I'm still allowed to cook, just not season.

And she is they gave her some topical medicine that has numbing agent in it. Insta relief.

Cool! Well, not 'cool' per se, but ...

The sad part is this isn't even the first time I've done this to someone.

Several years ago I tried to clean this chicks sinuses by having her take a whiff of this hot sauce called Mustard Gas, it just barely touched her lip and it looked like herpes for nearly 2 weeks afterwards.
