I hit the "Start Mining" button but nothing seems to be happening. I don't see any numbers going up or anything. What do?
Edit - Seems to be an issue in my browser (Chromium).

@owlchemy, since you were also asking about it.
Yes, the miner uses your CPU to "mine" for XMR, which provides funds for the site. It's actually an ingenious method of paying, since it's entirely voluntary (unless you're shady), and if you're not using your CPU anyway (like just watching vids online), it's basically at no cost to you.
@pembo210 handles the mining stuff, I believe. I remember it was borked before, but it seems to be back up. I tried it for second on my work computer, and I was getting hashes (but the computer's quarantine manager or perhaps anti-virus software moved something to "quarantine" when it started. So it may be your anti-virus as well. However, I do not know if it has issues with the Chromium browser or other browsers. I believe it was working for me in Opera, and I know it works in Chrome.
Cool, so when I bounce away from Phuks to read oe whatever, I can have the mining thing running and be donating to you then? Great deal, assuming no one's stealing anything off my rig - LOL - and I'll kick that thing into gear when I think of it. Thanks for the info, great to know.

Yes, that's exactly right. You can start and stop anytime, and there's also a leaderboard for the top 10 if your real-life penis doesn't measure up, so you compensate with an e-penis.
Ideally, you should have the number of "threads" at the number of processors you have minus one. If you don't know, you can fiddle around with it to see when it slows down (if you go too high), and drop it back one more to hit your peak performance.
I'm assuming it's using your processor or GPU to mine XMR (a cryptocurrency like bitcoin) to help pay for the site. That's what it looks like to me. But in my case, nothing is counting up. It says "0.0 Hashes/s". Maybe has something to do with the Linux OS I'm using or my browser (Chromium)?
Edit - Yeah, must have been my browser. Tried it in Firefox and it's running.
