Back where I'm from you'd peel the corn to see if it's ok. You wouldn't buy if the corn didn't look ok and you'd dig through the crop t find something better. I just bought some normie corn and I'm scared

I'm lucky enough to grow up to a Farm, and the best corn comes right off the stalk. So sweet you don't even need to cook it!!
