I took the doggo out for a walk and a kid about 12-13 ran up to him and tried to stroke him. I warned the kid to stay away from him, his parents were about 10 feet away and said absolutely nothing. Bomber growled at the kid and I pulled him back just as he jumped up to bite his hand. So then I get an earful from the parents about controlling my dog, yet they did fuck all when their little shit ran towards him and continued trying to stroke him after he had been growled at. I had him on a short lead, there is no way he would have gone for anyone or even been able to if he had been left alone.

I can kind of understand the kid not knowing to stay away from him, but he should have moved away after he was growled at. The parents were unbelievable though, how do you stand there and not tell your kid to move when a dog is growling? Then they have the audacity to blame me.

He isn't an aggressive dog usually, but he was hit a lot by my friend's boyfriend when he was younger and he is a bit wary of people he doesn't know moving quickly around him, especially men/boys.

When my kid does something stupid, I talk to her. I wouldn't be talking to the owner.

  1. We always tell her she needs to ask the owner if she can pet the dog.
  2. We remind her to be gentle with the dog before she pets it.

But it seems like the victim mentality is everywhere now. No one takes personal responsibility. It's always someone else's fault. Drives me insane.

I might have had to get the little bastard put down if he had bit him. My brother and sister have known not to go near dogs since they were 5-6 years old, I don't see how the kid couldn't know.
