Politifatigue is real and for me the more shrill and pervasive the politics the quicker it sets in. I think focusing on enjoying the little things of day to day life really helps combat the media's fear and political pressures. It helps gain and retain perspective.

That's true, this is historical as well. That does help a bit, and this period in American history is particularly interesting to me as well.
