Yep, dealing with a bit of that today. Logged in about an hour ago and I'm getting pinged all over the place in threads "proving" that I'm a shill (I made a thread criticizing the bombing and it blew up (pun intended)).

Why does no one ever stop to consider that maybe Voat is full of pro-trump shills?

I don't think this business of shill accusations is healthy for a free speech forum, on either side. A lot of people genuinely like Trump and genuinely hate him, and a lot of people are shills. That only changes discourse if you're an idiot who just follows what appears to be the most popular opinion, or if you plan on inciting shill hunts.

I agree entirely.

Thing is, even if there are shills (which I doubt), who cares? I mean really, what are you gonna do? The only thing that ever comes of it is brigading and witchhunts.

There actually is a group of accounts on voat that do nothing but post a very specific type of news.

They caught my attention last year and started sticking out like a sore thumb.

Initially I was just curious, then I started noticing a trend. They were heavily pushing a narrative with their dozen sick puppet accounts.

Personally, I hold them somewhat responsible for the shift from normal aggregator to full on news clusterfuck. When new users join and see most of the front page is highly upvoted clickbait hate articles. They assume that is the norm and the thing to do.

For awhile I tried calling them out and posting a list of their accounts. But no one seemed to care because it all flowed well with the circle jerk.

I was watching that shit with you unfolding. And honestly I have lost interest in Voat lately. "Have your say" as long as it's on message, all free thinking individuals are shills!
