I'm having a relatively average day, just running some errands in the city, but I keep noticing strange occurrences. Cars speeding at incredible rates down small streets, an inordinate amount of guns, and lots of sour, devil may care attitudes. Whatever, the city is strange but I enjoy how normal it makes me feel. I decide to ride my bike which is being stored in a sort of bike parking structure. I meet up with a few friends there, we laugh, share some advice and go our separate ways as we leave. I'm the last one out, waiting, holding my bike, standing in a long line that wraps up some stairs. I hear some snickering behind me, when I turn to see what is so funny, a couple of guys, one holding a hunting knife, tells me to handover that nice bike. Not a-fucking-gain. I just fall backwards on them which causes a domino effect as everyone behind them falls. I smile briefly but know I have to leave before the consequences of this action catch up with me. I quickly hit alt-f4 on the keyboard in front of me and take off my virtual reality helmet and remark about what a shitty trip to The City™ that was.
