I would be interested to see a similar graphic along side showing public restrooms and their availability along side.

I'm also curious if they include urine or vomit in their definition of human waste. Because the proximity to bars may inflate their numbers. (Though I doubt that was the demographic this is supposed to represent)

Bars likely explain some of the initial baseline, but are probably not a significant contribution to the growth.
Not unless the bar scene had been exploding in size.

Do big US cities still have public washrooms?
In Vancouver there is only one. And only junkies have ever seen the inside of it.
Actually, thanks to a starbucks policy change, we now have many, I guess.

I believe SF had an online map thing showing reports of human waste. It got some attention on Reddit a while ago, that may be one of the reasons for the increase in complaints.

Either people are complaining about it more, or people are doing it more. Honestly, either of those seem as likely as the other.
