It's in Barrrow, Alaska which is the northernmost and remotest point in alaska. It's above the arctic circle and mostly full of natives, which explains why stocking a supermarket there is extremely expensive, hence the prices.

I wonder how they afford that stuff, I imagine the income level isn't great there either.

I'm guessing it's there for the tourists and researchers on government/private grants and not the natives
