my legs are so goddamn sore but that reeeeeally made me want to get a run in. damn my strict dedication to only do the planned workout...
for anyone who never ran track but for some reason is still reading this, 600m is an insane distance to sprint and people who run 800m races are fucking gods among men. i'd take a marathon over an 800 any day.
I ran the 800 in highschool. I also set records.
I was the only person to never win anything. Not even good enough for a participation ribbon.
Since then, I can't even qualify to be in the audience.
What a shame, you can't even be a bystander any longer.
heh, i take solace in the fact that the year after i left, my cross country team slaughtered the competition at state. i may have sucked at running races but at least the culture my friends and i created bore fruit >_>
I saw him run several times live during my high school years in California. He was a sophomore in this race. Incredible athlete. I thought he might put the US back on the map in middle distance, but didn't make it at the Olympic level. He is still a legend in the California prep scene.
This run set a record that held for thirteen years.
