A lot of students I come across have this attitude that it's okay to be bad at math. Granted it's Thailand but still it's a general apathy towards learning. Being told you're wrong and really applying yourself to figure out how to get it right. In a system where just showing up gets you promoted to the next grade you quickly find yourself out of your element. It's easier to joke and act a clown instead of admitting you simply do not understand.
