Sure there's a little racist window-dressing, but the primary selection criterion is still political allegiance. It's not a best-person-for-the-job sort of vacancy.
Political allegiance for sure. I don't really have a problem with that. I'd like to think we could have totally objective judges, but that isn't how government or humans work.
I feel it is foolish to come out and say you're only hiring a black woman. If I posted a job ad and said I'm only hiring white males, I'd be sued immediately.
They should pick the best person for the job that supports their ideology, regardless of race or sex.

It is really something else that the best judge on the court is Justice Thomas. A black man that Joe Biden lead the charge against.
