he continued to spread lies, most notably the dominion one. called his supporters to the capitol, revved them up and told them to walk to the capitol. terrible judgement since the memes online were very clearly indicating more than just having a protest outside the capitol. aside from all of that, the very basic fundamental part that it was a crowd of his supporters. whether or not he said a thing that day to the crowd, he still is ultimately responsible for his supporters actions on a political level. i dont think he should spend the rest of his life in prison but it would be inappropriate for him to be president again on a historical basis.

You realize that the first requests for the national guard to contain riots at the congress building happened while he was still speaking, right? It was a 15 min or so walk from where he was speaking to congress. It had been 'breached' by Capitol Police opening the doors and opening barricades before anyone who was there to hear him speak got to that situation.
i gotta disagree. you dont want a precedent that a president can do whatever they want in their lameduck days. its not like trump was in the white house on a radio telling people what to do at the capitol but he is ultimately responsible for setting an angry mob on the congress. its only reasonable that the congress respond. dont get me wrong, they dont mind that the media can get extra anti-trump coverage and i dont doubt shady shit will occur over the next 4 years but thats not a reason not to respond. trump tried to sink their boat so now they'll try to sink his. also, senators can be expelled with the same 2/3 vote they'll need for impeachment.
i'd say with how hard trump manipulated his base for his own political gains, he's joined those ranks
