I consider it treason. They are creating an enemy. In creating that enemy, they are fostering and fomenting an environment which empowers that enemy.
Yes, legally, more likely sedition but that really just means removing the government. But that's what happens when you have officials who are not elected.

Seditious or treasonous? Personally I think it's more likely to be seditious not treasonous. If it's truly treason then what foreign government are they assisting? I don't think either side is acting on behalf of a foreign government which is why I think it's sedition.
