Congratulations to her, but it gets so tiresome to hear about how a person will become "the first X from Y". Or even better, "the first X-Y from Z" (e.g. the first gay Native American woman Comptroller of the Currency). Can't we just focus on the person's merits instead of making everything about group identity that you're born into? It's very dismissive to her too since reduces her and her achievements down to something she was born as and not due to her work and achievements.
