No, it's gonna be worse. They feel a bit emboldened by flipping the House. If they can't stop it using the same tactics, we will most definitely see a return to violence by the Democrats.
Didn't the Republicans pick up seats in the Senate?
Yes but things go through the House first. Things originate in the House so the dems are going to start originating investigations and voting down things "because Trump." The other side of that is that the dems can't actually get anything through and then Trump is going to have to legislate via Executive Order.
And if I remember correctly, impeachment proceedings start in the House as well.
I've seen "+2" cited a couple of times. I'm not sure if that means two seats gained, or just 2 seats past the threshold for majority, but either way they held control there.
I'll make a bit of a different prediction.
If she leaves, and Trump nominates her polar opposite, the Supreme Court could be massively conservative for a generation. Sounds good in theory for the Republicans, but they'd rather do some horse trading. Democrats would be scared shitless that even if they regain the legislative or executive branches, anything they do would be shot down. So a deal with be made: Trump nominates a moderate, and Democrats sell out something in return. How do they sellout? They'll do absolutely anything because they have no principles and care only about enriching themselves.
She's had multiple bouts of cancer, an arterial stent, and now a second fall resulting in broken ribs. Needless to say, if she steps down for whatever reason, the new appointment process is gonna be a repeat of the Kavanaugh mess.
