This has been part of the US politics since basically Day 1.

Why is Gerrymandering suddenly a "Constitutional issue" now? Is it due to politics taking a swing in the other direction at the state levels, or is it just another "sign if the times" where politics must breed hatred of the opposition?

Or is it the "extreme partisan" part that is making it illegal somehow? Considering the joke of the very first re-districting, I don;t see how that is even possible to be more "extreme partisan" than Elbridge's district.

Sure, it kind of pisses me off that my neighborhood got lumped in somehow into a different district, going from the somewhat rural/somewhat extreme wealth District 2 (Charlie Wilson's old District) to the extreme urban 18th district (represented by the illustrious and brilliant legal mind of Ms Sheila Jackson Lee).

I mean, how can these districts not be consistent with Elbridge Gerry's District. Seriously, how is this suddenly "Unconstitutional"?
