Or even be the FIRST ones to help them in a new country, and you have them AND their kids votes for life.

Again, harken back to Tammany Hall as the Irish poured into NYC, living in the slums around 5 points (Bowery/Brooklyn Bridge area today, just south of Chinatown), they were found places to live, handed out pennies, gave some food, found them jobs, etc. Just vote Democrat/Tammany Hall!

Then again when the Italians came in the early 20th century into Upper East Side/East Harlem on the East side of Lex (95th and up) as well as Little Italy south of Houston, the same thing occurred. Hand out jobs, do favors, give out pennies, find housing to these new immigrants, and then have the older immigrants recruit the NEW ones for you - all with the message - hey, we were freindly to YOU when you arrived, all we ask is you vote for Tammany Hall!

Now, it is, SURE! Anchor babies, unlimited immigration, no deportations, bring your kids, we won't break up families!, we'll feed and clothe and house and school you, no charge! Just vote democrat!

It just seems like there is nothing new under the sun.

As a native New Yorker I always appreciate a good Tammany Hall story.

Sad, but true.

Wait, there are BAD Tammany Hall stories?

If I hear someone say "Roscoe Conkling", my ears are up, and I am focused, because I know it's going to be as entertaining as watching a monkey fucking a football.

I try to explain NYC politics to people and the only ones who get it are from Chicago.
