Dutch media is incomparable to US, UK or even Ger. We don't really have tabloids like the UK, news is fact driven and we don't have anything remotely like fox as in the US. The Dutch have always been a critical and direct culture with a multiparty system and free unbiased press. See the whole Pete Hoekstra kerfuffle for how we think and operate. (If Hoekstra was a Dutch politician pulling this, it would most likely be end of his career)

Calling the Dutch "Gullible" is pretty funny coming from a North-American.

So, you agree with what I said then? Us = Hammer, Europe = scalpel. Not the same thing.

Nobody is talking about tabloids. They are not very big in North America anyway, you're thinking of the UK, and Europe.

Same for almost all western countrys.

unbiased press

No you don't. There is no such thing. That you think it's even possible shows it's been at least partially successful. Those who feel they are not being manipulated, are usually the ones being manipulated the most.

I think you've got that backward. You're right that I don't have a great standing, and Canada isn't far behind you, but the US is way ahead of both of us.
Sure, it is a lot simpler for them to see the biases, but don't be fooled into thinking your media is run by angels. Half of the US knows they are being lied to. That's a good start. You and I live in gullible populations.

Also, how is the press freedom index relevant? North American news accuracy took a huge hit when press freedom was opened up.
We used to have laws in both Canada and the US that made it against the law to knowingly publish false information. Since those laws have been removed, our press is more 'free', and also more full of shit.
