To put it bluntly: Don't trust anything Microsoft says or does with Windows 11. Something happened to convince them that they wanted a new version after promising that they wouldn't make another. It's probably TPM 2.0 and DRM because eliminating something like half of their Windows 10 users wouldn't fly well. All the same, they won't even acknowledge that they said this.
